SGS Motosport and Rim proudly introduces an exclusive wheel upgrade kit designed to elevate the performance of your KTM Adventure bike. The combination of the SM Pro Platinum Rim, Bulldog Stainless Steel Spokes, and SM Pro T6 billet aluminium hub makes our wheelset the strongest on the market. The SM Pro Platinum Rim is made from 7050 T6 Aluminium which is the strongest grade used in any motorcycle rim. 7050 T6 is widely used in the aerospace industry for example, in the landing gear of passenger aircraft.
Our Packages
We offer 3 different packages depending on your budget and requirements.
Complete Tubeless Wheels
These come prebuilt with SM Pro’s tubeless system. Your stock brake disk and sprocket will fit.
Complete Tubed Wheels
These look identical to the tubeless wheels, except they come without the tubeless system installed. Your stock disks and sprocket will fit.
Tubed outer rims and Bulldog Spokes laced to your existing hubs
Optional hub refurb and local tubeless conversion. The cheapest option without compromising strength and allows for fitment of your standard TPMS.
Tube Vs Tubeless
There has been debate over the benefits of tubes vs tubeless wheels for many years, both systems have their pros and cons so lets go over them here to help you make an informed decision.
Tubeless:
Pros
- reduced weight due to not needing a tube
- run cooler
- handle punctures better
Cons
- more expensive
- heavy damage can be much harder if not impossible to repair when out on a ride. For example if the tyre comes off the bead.
Tubed:
Pros
- cheaper
- easier to get the tyre refitted when on a ride
- the tubed rim has a lower profile, which adds strength and further prevents smilies
Cons
- punctures must be repaired immediately by replacing the inner tube, which means removing the tyre.
- heavier due to added inner tube
